User Experience Strategist

Ready to Inspire Actions that Matter™? Crosby, one of the country’s leading independent communications firms, is seeking a User Experience Strategist who wants to make a difference. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the healthcare, nonprofit, and government spaces. You’ll help create digital experiences and products that touch millions of people and positively impact people’s lives. Our ideal candidate has recent experience in conducting research and strategic planning in support of creating and maintaining large scale websites, mobile apps, and digital products.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead a range of UX research and discovery initiatives (i.e., stakeholder sessions, user interviews, online surveys, competitive research, content auditing) at the onset of digital engagements.
  • Synthesize user research and discovery findings into actionable insights and clear strategic guidance for our UX design and development teams.
  • Document your strategic work through the creation of UX artifacts such as sitemaps, personas, journey maps, heuristics evaluations, touchpoint audits, content strategy documentation, etc.
  • Partner with UX designers in planning and documenting detailed information architecture for medium to large scale digital initiatives. This includes creating sitemaps and user flows and advising on the creation of wireframes, clickable prototypes, and modular design systems.
  • Support iterative UX improvements through multiple UX methods including usability testing, card sorting exercises, website experiments and testing (A/B testing, multivariate, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with clients, creative directors, strategists, project managers, UX designers, developers, and copywriters to ensure digital engagements and experiences meet user and client needs while remaining developmentally feasible.

We’re looking for candidates with these qualifications:

  • Experience working closely with clients and project stakeholders while leading the UX discovery portion of large design/redesign projects.
  • Proven expertise in conducting user and industry research, developing UX strategy and planning the information architecture of complex digital initiatives – and a portfolio of UX artifacts and documentation that demonstrate this expertise.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of modern, responsive web technologies, familiarity with leading content management systems and experience working in agile environments.
  • Ability to not only understand complex systems, but to explain them in plain language.
  • A low-ego, self-starter, who is deadline-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity using UX tools such as Figma, InVision, Axure or Sketch.
  • Government website/app experience as well as wireframing, and prototyping capabilities a plus.

Crosby offers competitive pay and generous benefits, bonus, and profit-sharing opportunities. Our headquarters are in Annapolis, MD, and we also have an office in Bethesda, just outside of Washington, D.C. Crosby offers a hybrid work schedule; working in the office three days a week and remote two days a week (Mondays & Fridays). This full-time position is in our Annapolis, MD office.
