Crosby Marketing Communications won a second consecutive five-year contract with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to provide strategic communications services to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). The $12 million contract supports the USPSTF’s mission to improve the health of people nationwide through evidence-based prevention in primary care.
The USPSTF is an independent, volunteer body of national experts in primary care and preventive medicine. Since its inception in 1984, the Task Force has been at the forefront of developing evidence-based recommendations on clinical preventive services. Topics cover the complete lifespan, from vision screening in young children to heart disease prevention in adults to colorectal cancer screening in older adults, and its recommendations serve as a tool for primary care clinicians and patients to decide together whether a preventive service is right for a patient’s needs.
Crosby’s team of health communications experts provide a range of services to the Task Force, including strategic planning, message development, media relations, social media outreach, crisis support, and digital communications. All integrate to help the Task Force elevate its leadership role, engage a range of stakeholders in its process, and broadly disseminate its preventive screening recommendations – with the goal of accelerating them into practice.
“We’re thrilled to continue our work with the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force to promote evidence-based care and improve the health of people nationwide,” said Crosby CEO and President Raymond Crosby. “It has never been more important for everyone to have access to trustworthy information to help prevent disease, promote health, and prolong life.”
In addition to AHRQ and the Task Force, Crosby works with leading healthcare organizations including Kaiser Permanente, Shriners Hospitals for Children, RefuahHealth, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Crosby provides integrated advertising, public relations, social media and digital marketing services through specialized practices in Healthcare, Government, Nonprofits & Causes and Military & Veterans. The firm ranks #1 on the Washington Business Journal’s list of largest ad agencies in the region, and O’Dwyer’s ranks Crosby #19 for national communications firms and #8 for healthcare PR. The firm is a top provider on the GSA Professional Services Schedule (PSS). Crosby has also been named a Top Workplace by The Washington Post for five consecutive years.
