Crosby Marketing Communications recently held its eighth annual Inspiring Actions That Matter™ Day of community service, but this year, with a virtual twist. In the past, employees spent the day volunteering on location at local nonprofits, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with the staff working remotely, the company found a creative and safe way to give back.
Each of Crosby’s 100 staff members was given $200 to donate to the charity of their choice. In total, $20,000 was contributed to worthy causes selected by employees.
“While we missed volunteering out in the community, we weren’t going to let the pandemic get in the way of celebrating our company mission and finding a way to give back,” said agency President and CEO Raymond Crosby. “With so many people and organizations struggling, our staff members were excited to support causes they are passionate about.”
Since it began in 2013, Crosby’s Inspiring Actions That Matter™ Day of Service has resulted in giving 3,700 hours of employee time and $130,000 to charities and nonprofits in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
