Crosby Marketing Communications (Crosby) has launched the new “This is My Room” public service campaign for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a national, nonprofit public charity, to raise awareness about the more than 100,000 children in the U.S. waiting to be adopted from foster care.
At the heart of the campaign are TV and radio PSAs featuring the real-life story of Marisol, who was adopted after spending 14 years in foster care. For children lingering in care, it’s hard to get attached to a place when they know they’ll have to leave. And for Marisol, finally having a room to call her own — for good — is a dream come true.
“Crosby beautifully captured Marisol’s story … the heartbreak of instability and the hope that having a safe, permanent home can bring,” said Rita Soronen, President & CEO of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. “We are hopeful that this campaign inspires more people to open their homes or their hearts to a child waiting for a family.” Beyond broadcast, the PSA campaign includes a series of print and out-of-home executions for use by media outlets.
“We are honored to help the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption share its powerful message and call to action,” said Crosby President Raymond Crosby. “The Foundation is leading the way in offering educational resources about foster care adoption and other ways people can help children and teens who have waited the longest.”
A five-year national evaluation revealed that children referred to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s foster care adoption program are up to three times more likely to be adopted. To learn more about its research-based programs and support the organization, visit davethomasfoundation.org.
