Crosby Volunteers 600 Hours to Brighten Up Local Boys & Girls Club

10.20.2023

Crosby Marketing Communications recently used its annual Inspiring Actions That Matter™ Day of Service to help transform the Boys & Girls Club of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County’s (BGCAA) headquarters to make it more welcoming, fun, and functional for the children it serves.

“Our company’s mission of Inspiring Actions That Matter™ truly came to life at the Boys & Girls Club,” said President and CEO Raymond Crosby. “The Club is a safe haven for hundreds of local young people every day, and our team was passionate about making it an even more nurturing place for years to come.”

Crosby’s 115 employees spent a combined 600 hours working throughout the Club’s building and grounds. The company also donated nearly $20,000 in supplies and furniture for the day-long project that included refreshing the entrance and lobby, activity and game room, teen hangout, and art classroom. Team members hung colorful wall murals, added decorative artwork, touched up painting, replaced an assortment of furniture, created reading nooks, enhanced gaming systems, installed new tables and chairs, and conducted a deep clean of the entire facility.

In addition to the inside work, Crosby planted new bushes and flowers around the building and playground, mulched flower beds, finished and installed picnic tables, and painted and hung bird houses.

“We are grateful to the Crosby team for beautifying and enhancing the Boys & Girls Club in so many incredible ways — their generosity and creativity has been amazing,” said Club Director Brittany Mason. “Crosby is a long-time supporter and the kind of partner our Club relies on to continue the important work we do in the community.”

Since Crosby’s day of service started in 2013, the firm has donated more than 4,700 hours of staff time and $161,600 to support local nonprofits and charities.
